The Spanish painter, whose delicate, almost-photorealist renderings of heads and shoulders are contained inside single-color circles. The artist’s vivid reds are made from crushed cochineal beetles, an authentic Renais- sance technique with a contemporary twist.

 

Salustiano (1965) was born in Seville, Spain.He has exhibited his artwork globally, showcasing in museums, galleries, and international art fairs. No- table exhibitions include those at the Frost Museum in Miami, YBCA in San Francisco, Fowler Museum in Los Angeles, Luma Museum in Chicago, Nobel Museum in Stockholm, and Cisneros CIFO Foundation in Miami. He has also participated in art fairs such as Art Cologne, Armory Show in New York, Art Miami, ARCO in Madrid, KIAF in Seoul, Volta in Basel, Miami, and New York, Contemporary Istanbul, and Art Central in Hong Kong. His works have been featured in galleries like BHAK in Seoul, Zemack in Tel Aviv, Brockstedt in Berlin, Priveekollek- tie Contemporary in Heusden aan de Maas, and Kavachnina Contemporary in Miami.
Salustiano has graced the covers of magazines such as Arte Al Límite in Chile, Art Public in Korea, Monopol in Germany, and ABC Cultural in Spain. He has been featured in articles and appearances in Vogue Spain, Vogue Germany, GQ Japan, Marie Claire Japan, Harper Bazaar Arabia, Harper Bazaar Spain, AD Switzerland, AD Spain, AD Germany, Elle Spain, Elle Decoration Germany, and The New York Times, among others. Salustiano’s artistic recognition has led to collaborations with prestigious international charitable institutions including the Dalai Lama Foundation.”The Missing Peace, Artist Consider The Dalai Lama” was a significant international exhibition featuring renowned figures such as Marina Abramovic, Bill Viola, Anish Kapoor, Laurie Anderson, Richard Avedon, and Chuck Close. Salustiano’s work “Reincarnation” was selected as the official image for the exhibition’s world tour.
