Our yellow feelings from the Keeper’s series is a special representation of the dreamlike scenes depicted by Reynier Llanes. Like the Poet or the Tourist, this series was created under the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic and the worries that it carried out for the future of humankind. The faceless characters belong to a world of distance and captivity however they bring a light of hope. As Dr. Alex Rich, Polk Museum of Art director, said about the new paths in Reynier’s work, they manifest liminality: the in-betweenness of worlds. Dream or reality, possible or impossible, past or future are intertwined in a beautiful portrait of the human condition.
